Judging others

One fine day Roy complained about Don the gossiper.
The next day, Roy started gossiping about others.
When Liz learnt about it, Liz pointed it out loudly and made Roy furious and walked out banging the door
.

It was so easy judging others.
Matthew 7: 1-5: "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye".

Later Liz realized herself was wrong she should have spoken to Roy nicely. Be careful what we say and what we do. Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. [Proverbs 12:18]

This is a very typical case for argument. I guess we cannot really blame the guy because God made us all humans and humans act....humanly. Why do we have to follow God's words when you and I know jolly well that either we follow rules 1 - 10 of the bible and probably break rules 11 - 10000 or we follow rules 3 today only to break it two weeks later.

I like this quote "You murder 1, you are a murderer. You murder 10000, you are still a murderer". Does it make a murderer feel any better if after every crime he commits, he breaks down and ask for forgiveness? Or do we have to conscientiously flip through the bible for every response we are going to make? for eg, if we bump onto someone and that person goes "Watch it. Are you blind?", do we let our emations run wild or do we bring out the bible to search for the best reaction?

Thanks for feedback and sharing. You are right by saying sin is sin no matter of the amount.

Yes, we can't blame anyone but we can ask God to change ourselves. Sometimes I am just like the guy or any of the characters mentioned in the story. We are changing bit by bit though failing so many times. We are called to become like Christ so keep trying.

Ephesians 5:1-2 "Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."
