An instrument of Thy peace

How can we be an instrument of God's peace?

My church choir is singing this song this week.
What a beautiful, meaningful and powerful message!

Prayer of St. Francis
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon,
Where there is doubt, faith,
Where there is despair, hope,
Where there is darkness, light,
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled, as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;

For it is in giving that we receive
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Let's learn to be an instrument of Thy peace wherever we go... home, church, school, workplace, etc. Be blessing to others as you have been blessed by Thy peace!

Colossians 3:15
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

Do you always find peace in Him? Just a few days ago, I asked for peace and I didn't get any; I asked for advice and I didn't get any; I asked for light at night and I obviously didn't get any. But to be fair to Him, He did give me what I asked for in the past...but not always. So does it mean that "Ask and you will be given" actually means "Ask and you will be given...maybe"?

Yes, In Jesus there is Peace. Regarding “ask and you will be given”, I guess the context is asking in accordance to God’s will. Sometimes we do ask unreasonable requests as we can’t see the big picture at that point in time. You may want to read my post on “Unanswered prayer”. God bless :)
